David Lee Roth Radio MP3’s
This site has a great archive of Dave in the mornings.NOPE.
These are kooky good. I used to make a lot of fun of David Lee Roth and BMF HATED IT. He loved and adored Roth and no matter what would always defend him. I know we have at least two framed fairly naked DLR pictures around here. You know the ones. I plan to get a cup of coffee and listen to one of these a day in honor of my BMF. But I’ll probably still make fun of DLR. 😉
Cheap Aerosmith?
Aerosmith says they are gonna take Cheap Trick on the road with them. The two bands hook up starting March 2 at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and they’ll cross North America for five weeks, ending up at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 9th. The two bands have known each other since the ’70s, and they toured together back in 2004.
David Lee Roth Blog
Now you can look over each show on Dave’s new blog.Nope.
Ok here we go with this David Lee Roth person. Ha! I loved giving BMF crap about DLR. The blog is gone but he does have one hell of a cool blog now that’s pretty current. No telling how long it will last but it is great in design with lots of great graphics and photos. I’ll take a look. David Lee Roth’s current blog.
One good thing I’ll say about DLR is he and I have the same birthdate. 🙂 October 10, except he’s older than me.~This post updated by ~mc on 8/6/17~
The Love Drunks
Finally something worth a crap to listen to…The Love Drunks(Disaster Records/Bomp Records)hail from Atlanta, GA. I vaguely remember seeing their name in the back of Creative Loafing playing around town but didn’t know much about them. The Cd opens with a jolt to yer soul called “Sketch” which keeps your toes tappin’ all throughout…In fact every song on this Cd will keep your toes tappin’ and yer heart racin’ with thoughts of Rock & Roll from the gut.
Prick Magazine(nope – see below) had this to say “…with frontman Patrick A. prancing around like a cross between Lux Interior, Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger on speed.” How can you not want to go see that? When I first read they had a stand up bass player I was a bit put off until I gave it a listen… unlike other bands with stand up basses, Chris “Koby” Downs plays it so it complements the punk rock feel the band puts forth. Awesome stuff here. Great guitar, great singing, great drums, great fucking sound. I’m actually listening to this as I write this review and I’m more impressed with each song. This is one of the CD’s that is good from track one to the last track and only grows in strength as it plays.
This CD has a permanent spot in the MusicFilter Jukebox and I look forward to seeing these guys tear it up live.~restored and updated 8.8.17 by ~mc~
sHEAVY – Republic?
sHEAVY is the SHIT. I somehow came across this incredible advance of REPUBLIC?, the upcoming release of the band that if Ozzys wife had any balls would have headlining every Ozzfest from here on out bmfgroupie shared sHEAVY with me 2 or 3 years ago and from the first time we listened to them we loved them. Forget the generalization of Stoner Rock these guys re-define it. I can’t help but begin this rant without praising the incredible sound that Steve Hennesy emits from the mic. What we have here is an equivalent of Ozzy that can actually sing and change tones with ease that is not to any way diss the ozzy I’ve seen him lots and he can fucking sing the ozzy way. ozzy is in a category by himself..nobody will ever sound lke ozzy but..Steve Hennesy has a different TONE..i don’t know shit about playing instruments or writing music but to me.he has a different tone..all the while Steve is belting out grab-at-yer-gut sounds the band is chugging right along with him at train track feeling The whole time I’ve been typing this dribble..the first 3 songs have played all of which inspired all this dribble. The fourth song, Moments is THE PERFECT HALLOWEEN PARTY Song full of strong mixed drinks, heavy tokes and an ending that will make you literally move your body slowly towards the speakers eagerly anticipating the next note played. Song 5 is driving hard fuckin. Song six,”phone booth” is eeeeeerrriieee..dont mix that out of the final guysgreat little thingy there.song 7, œspyheeeeeeaaaaaavyyyyyyyyy perfect head song bmfgroupie said she could suck all the way through but I think she needs to listen to it more..but even for the first listen she sucked it mighty good Stingray 16follows with more of the same..not the same same but the distinct sound that follows these guys these guys pull this music from within somewhere.its too fucking trippy to not come from somewhere elseThe MAN ends this amazing CD.original strange guitar/bass sounds come through and grab you then the heavy fucking guitar/bass beat comes through and drives the song through the structure very cool .every song Steve and the band have a gem on their hands get this CD!!!..go see sHEAVY online
