Coke Bandits Found Alive!!

We have just learned that Fresca was seen on a tropical beach over this weekend drinking out of a pineapple with two straws wearing the last outfit she wore at the Coke Bandits last gig minus her top. When approached for comment she said “Yeh, Dew got a little crazy on the plane. We managed to bail out using my blouse and his trousers as a makeshift parachute. Luckily we landed on a semi-nude beach with locals who think our band is some sort of god”. When asked if we could expect the Coke Bandits to continue their cut short tour anytime soon Fresca said “We’ll probably hang out here for a while, get the natives to build us some new equipment and get back to it soon enough.”. All other road crew and bandmates died instantly when the plane went down and landed inside a huge volcano that happened to be erupting at that exact time.

Coke Bandit’s Disaster

MusicFilter has found out through a anonymous news source that the Coke Bandits have been in a terrible plane crash. As many of you know the Coke Bandits had just earned five stars on a recent leg of their tour earning them rights to many new venues all over the world as well as being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were on their way to play Tokyo when apparently Dew, on a party rampage fell into the cockpit with a flaming shot of alcohol. When he fell onto the console, his drink spilled into the lap of the pilot catching him on fire and the plane went off auto pilot. The pilot ‘flying’ the plane had not passed his FAA final test and did not know what to do so he pulled and pushed the steering wheel so hard it broke. The plane was last seen nosediving into a set of unknown mountains. There is no word about Fresca as of now. Stay tuned for more as we find out.

Ron Franklin

Ron Franklin

“Born on a road trip, a rest stop”, Ron Franklin sings and plays music that you may expect from that type of statement….raw, southern, dylan’esqe and garage rock re-defined as such. It’s not very often I buy a CD anymore sounds unheard, but I’ve learned over time that the guys over at Alive Records have an ear for special music, so after reading their bio on Mr. Franklin I took a chance and bought his self titled CD after a night of bourbon and cokes.

Since I’ve received this CD, it has not left my player. I take it from the home system to the car, whichever I am set to be in for a while and let it play over and over. While the info on this CD isn’t on any online database as of yet, I manually inserted all the track info and synced it to my iTouch. This is the type of music you want easy access to at all times. I’ve already did some research and found he has more music out there which I quickly ordered and has new set of songs coming out soon. I’m not the type that anal-izes an artists lyrics and that holds true for Ron Franklin. All I know is when I listen to his music and words it makes me good. It is music for all moods. Sometimes it makes me want to roll my window down, light a smoke and tap my foot to every beat, other times it makes me want to cry. Ron Franklin plays EmOtIoNaL music. For me that is what music is all about; feeling emotion when you hear it.

If you like good songwriting, music you can feel and are in desperate need of something fresh and original pick this CD up asap. Buy it here. Preview it here.

Show me the Setlist

Here is a cool idea for a website, “Show me the Setlist” in which you can search for a band and see various set lists from shows of past. If you don’t see your favorite band you can add a band to their database. It looks to be work in progress but so far so good. Great idea!!

I’ve added a link to MusicFilter’s “Got Music” on the sidebar.

When I get time I will add the US Bombs and Nashville Pussy set lists we have from past shows along with some photos to back it all up.
