Die Hunns – Live Fast

Die Hunns have released a new record called “Live Fast…” featuring some pre-production of pre-production songs that never made it on ‘You Rot Me’.

The disc begins with a cover of Back in Black that honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect but they put such a cool twist on it that it changes the song completely. Corey sings lead and Duane chimes in with the chorus. Together they make this song sound so fucking cool you have to hear it to believe it.

Die hard Hunns fans may of heard some of these songs before like “Ain’t talkin’ ’bout love and Marshal Law but Hunns fan or not, this disc is awesome. With a “pealed of production” sound which to me is very cool, the songs will make a Hunns fan out of any non-believer and will make the hardest core Hunns fan turn the knobs to 11 when listening. “Atomic Cafe” melds Corey and Duane’s voices again perfectly. The outake version of “Ain’t it a shame” is way fucking cool. These guys can do no wrong. This is the stuff that should be played on the airwaves.
After listening to the songs once I immediately set the player to repeat and will be blasting this thing for some time. Can’t wait for the next one guys.

Rotten to be judge

Bodog Music’s $1 Million Battle of the Bands, a contest for new bands sponsored by the music division of the Bodog Entertainment Group, has announced that John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnny Rotten) has signed on to be a judge. The show is currently taping across the U.S. with plans to air on “a top cable network” later this year. Lydon had the following to say about his affiliation with the show:

“I don’t like decaffeinated teabags. The offer to this show came in the season to be jolly (xmas). I don’t know who Bodog is. I still don’t, but I may in the future. I admire the wit, audacity and touch of genius to entrust me with the future of rock and roll. I do not do judgment. I don’t take judgment. But, by the end of this show you’ll know what this judge meant. I don’t like decaffeinated teabags. P.S. – I always loved live music and these bands genuinely enjoy what they do, and they write their own songs. Thank you. Fresh. Whoever wins Bodog’s cash cow contract is well worth it cause every single band in here is worth it. Words not given lightly.
Up yours,
John Rotten”

Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Nashville Pussy

Blabbermouth.net is reporting that a Nashville Pussy song will be in the new movie “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie for Theaters”. “Aqua Teen is fast becoming the buzz flick of 2007, after an advance promotion led to the arrest and arraignment of two Boston men. The men mounted Lite-Brite-like promo devices around the city, which featured Mooninite characters giving passers-by the finger. Boston was recently paralyzed over the devices.

The Bloody Hollies

The Bloody Hollies
newest disc, “Who to Trust, Who to Kill, Who to Love” out on Alive Records is blistering. I could stop there and that would sum it up for this review but I couldn’t stop without telling you how raw yet refined these guys come across. Guitars that makes your guts twist, vocals that will make your brain tighten, drums and bass that push and pull your toes as the music hits your existence.

“Mona” starts off where “Watch your head” from the bands prior album “If footmen tire you” left off. Damn I like ALL the songs on this disc. Very diverse throughout but it always remains ROCK. I’ve only listened to this cd twice but you will surely here more from us here at MusicFilter as it will get lots more playtime here at the Punk Rock House.

If you don’t know who the Bloody Hollies are or have never heard them check out “Satanic Satellite” from the new disc over at Alive Records. Trust me when I say you should really just go here and buy this disc and their other one while your at it and enjoy some awesome ROCK! These guys embody no frills ROCK.
