I just got a pair of these Motörheadphönes today so I won’t drive everyone out of the house when I want to play my guitar. Lemmy is asked about them at the CES show yesterday.
Reporter 1: “There’s a lot of lines of headphones; celebrity headphones…”
Lemmy: “Oh, is there? I didn’t know.”
Reporter 1: “So why are these different?”
Lemmy: “Because they’re from Motorhead.”
Reporter 1: “So is the sound quality different?”
Lemmy: “These are for deaf people, you see. Our fans are deaf, remember?”
I received the new Bad Brains yesterday and listened twice through this morning. It is really cool. Rock, Reggae, beats and more. If you don’t have it or haven’t listened to it I suggest this one for anyone’s library.
On Sirius radio tonight at 7:30 pm. For the first time in 20 years the surviving members of Nirvana will play with Paul McCartney joining them. Whats more is they will play a new song they have been working on. Springsteen, The Who, The Stones and many more will play tonight. Should be good.
Update 1213/12 love the song:
A little less than a month after being hit by a car, OC’s skateboarding punk legend Duane Peters rides again. His band, Duane Peters Gunfight, recently announced that they’ve rescheduled their postponed show at The Slidebar Rock ‘N’ Roll Cafe in Fullerton to next Tues., Dec. 11. The news comes just weeks after the 51-year old Peters was forced to cancel the show after being hit by a car while riding his skateboard in Long Beach. His injuries included a ruptured lung, bruised kidney, sprained left wrist and a smashed (not broken) left foot. After the accident forced him to postpone his band’s show Nov.11, he did what any good, hard-headed punk would do…he took a little while to walk it off.
Last month, we received this statement from his management: “We really appreciate the outpouring of support. Duane is doing better. He is pretty banged up, but resting at home. He is going to take the rest of the month to really try and heal so he can get back on stage and back on the skateboard soon.”
Peters, aka “The Master of Disaster” is probably best known as the front man for the U.S. Bombs as well as a professional skateboarder. Anyone who knows Peters is aware that saying he’s been banged up a few times in his life is a definite understatement. For more on that history, see this story we did on him a couple years ago.
The show he’s playing next week also doubles as a charity food drive. Fans who come to the show next week are asked to bring either 5 perishable food items, $10 donation or one new blanket. Openers for Duane Peters Gunfight include a three pack of local punk favorites: OCA, Dimerunner and Headaches.
“Into The Future is the purest Bad Brains’ recordings since the ROIR cassette. A treat for the hardcore Bad Brains’ fan, with a variety of styles and creative progression not seen in years. This self-produced record shines with a true sense of freedom and musical experimentation, with blends of soulful backgrounds meshed with blistering hardcore and metal riffs, with classic dub,” says Darryl Jenifer.
