THE BEST SHOW I’VE EVER BEEN TO!
If I left it at that it would an accurate and understated description of last nights show at Vinyl but I have a lot more to say about last night.
Check out the photos here. If you see a photo you want let me know and I’ll send you the original.
“Despised” opened with a blaring hard as hell set that got things started off right. After that the Hollow Points played some pirate punk rock that did not disappoint. I’m not really familar with their song list but it didn’t matter cause every song kicked ass.
Before the US Bombs took the stage the anticipation was incredible. I caught Duane standing next to the stage waiting for the perfect time to make his entrance. When he hit the stage the Bombs went straight into “All the Bodies”, “Yer Country”, “US of Hate”, “Weekend Revolution”, and “We are the Problem”. At that point I heard a great suprise…Duane announcing that MusicFilter was there and that they liked us (or something along those lines). That made my night. The band quickly kicked into “Do it again” and 11 more Bombs staples.(usbombs/bombssetlist.jpg) They rocked, they rocked motherfucking hard. Punk rock at its best. They left the stage for a couple of minutes only to retake the stage for “Skate” in which half the crowd jumped on stage and began ‘singing’ the song. Kerry and the guys just stood back and wailed away as people were flying everywhere.
The band is incredible. Absolutley what we’ve been needing around here. I hope they come back soon. I’ve been to a lot of shows and I can say without a shadow of doubt that these guys are tops in my book.
I got to meet the band which was super cool for me. Got some good photos too. Got lots of cool punk rock swag. Got an album signed (usbombs/signedbombs.jpg) by the band. Got my photo with the band. Got to talk to Duane. Got to hear about how an upcoming record that is apparently in the process of being made. Duane my address is here if you still want to send me something. Had a great time with my punk rock girl.
I had just as good of a time talking to and meeting everyone last night. Everyone in all the bands were super cool and I really enjoyed it. The crowd was awesome too. The best crowd I’ve seen in Atlanta in a LONG time. Real fans.
