The Konks

Richard Hell…I really like a good crunchy sentence.

The Konks have just released a full length CD… via BOMP!. The Konks ‘play with cheap guitars and two lousy drums’ and with this arrangement they pull off a rockin’ garage band sound that may be unsurpassed by any other ‘garage type’ band out there today. The gem of this disc though for me is the last song which is a cover song. “Let the music do the talkin'” is credited to “Aerosmith” but is actually a Joe Perry penned song that he wrote and recorded on a solo album when Aerosmith was broken up and then re-recorded with Aerosmith on the “Done with Mirrors” LP that was released right before “Permanant Vacation”. Enough about Aerosmith though.the Konks make this song their own and they definatley own it after just one listen.

This is music you feel when you listen to it. Go get a copy of this CD, grab yerself a Jack & Coke, crank it up to 11. This is great music.

Punkarella is comin’ home today… I don’t think I could have taken another night without you baby….

There is nothing in this life I want to, desire to, have to, or can do without you. Maybe some unhappy people out there will want to call it cheesy, say awwww, or just toss their cookies if they want…but you do make my life complete. And you are the best fucking doctor since that TV doctor I had a crush on in elementary school. You are the coolest baby and you treat me like a princess. I really can’t even think up enough words to express how much I love you and depend on you. And I don’t care anymore about being dependent on you. It feels good to me. It feels right to me. I feel safe. As long as I’m breathing and here in Hell I hope you will be right by my side because there is no doubt we belong together. And when it’s time to go on to the next place I hope we will be lucky enough to be together again there too. Sometimes things just come together.. …they come together in your mind and soul in ways that are indescribable. Yet, I must try to convey the great things happening in my own mind and life as of now. My love, my life, my friends, my future…its a good thing.

My love, Miss Chicky exceeds every perfect thought I’ve ever had..every moment I’m with her. My life, wow, my life is good. Once upon a time my life was not so great…I wasn’t even sure how I was gonna wake up the next day…My life: always optimistic but I began to become a little bit pessimistic ….is now an underlying sense of pure happiness and new found optimisim. I am the most in love motherfucker you could possibly find on earth right now and I can’t get enough. What a great sense of being. I am finally my own person and totally feel love for that.. I’m completly connnected to the most awesome person I have ever known in my life and most likely will ever know. I’m soakin’ it up and lovin every second of it. Life is what you make it. Life is also how you take it. .I BELIEVE this is it as deep as it gets and it only gets deeper and I”m not afraid to go as deep as possilbe….this is what life is all about people…TRUE LOVE. TRUE ROMANCE.
Music: always an important part of my life has now taken on an automatic pureness that just flows with the times. It just keeps getting better, much like my relationship with Miss Chicky….it seems to exceed every imaginable thought i have.

Flipper “American Grafishy”

I recieved “Flipper – American Grafishy” in the mail today…. after looking for an mp3 i used to have of -fucked up once again- by Flipper for about a month I finally decided it was time to buy this CD. I bought the entire CD only knowing and caring about the song –Fucked up once again– and even if the other songs had sucked I would still be happy with it. I should say though that the other songs on -American Grafishy- DON’T suck making this CD a great purchase for any Flipper fan or any fan of slow groovin’ punk rock. You can listen to a streaming copy of Fucked up once again here.
